Naija Adventurers Upcoming trips to Farin Ruwa Waterfalls - Nasarrawa & Kajuru Castle - Kaduna

In the month of February 2017,the 'Naija Adventurers' family will visit the famous Farin RuwaWaterfalls-Nasarrawa State, as well as Kajuru castle in Kaduna!!

                                                          Background information

Farin Ruwa Falls is a waterfall found in the central region of Nigeria. It is among the highest waterfalls in Nigeria. It is significant among Africa's falls when the total height covered by the waterfall is considered.

The source of Farin Ruwa falls is found on the Nasarawa State, from whence it gushes down over the edge of the Nasarawa. During its descent from the Jos Plateau, the water drops a total height of about 150 metres (492 ft).[1] This drop is higher compared to the more popular Victoria Falls, which drops a height of around 108 metres (354 ft) during its descent.

Farin Ruwa is a Hausa language word meaning 'white water'. Farin Ruwa is a description of the nature of the falls by the local inhabitants of the Farin Ruwa area.[4] The height covered during the descent of the falls is very great, so that the descending water crashes during its way down the Jos plateau escarpment. The falls gradually turns white in colour as a result of the height covered by the falls during its descent.

The falls, as a result of its white colour, appears in the distance to the inhabitants of the Farin Ruwa area like white smoke on the mountains. This white nature of the falls earned it the name Farin Ruwa from the inhabitants

Weekend activities with 'Naija Adventurers'......................Abuja, Nigeria

Guess what!! this past weekend, we opted to have a Friday night hang-out, so we skipped our traditional Saturday hike. At the end of it all, it turned out to be really good!!!
We started off at Tavarn Lounge, Wuse II, and finally ended up @Xtacy Night Club.,,It was a memorable night, one spent with friends that are now part of our ever growing community - 'Naija Adventurers'.
In the middle of it all, some professional cricket players in Abuja joined us and it was great to have them around. On Saturday night, the Cricket Club of Abuja was celebrating their 10 years anniversary, so we turned up to show support and solidarity.. Great weekend indeed!!

The Usuman Dam Experience!..........Usuman Dam, Bwari, Abuja

Usuma Dam is a man-made wonder right in the city of Abuja. The Dam hosts Biwater, a water treatment company that distributes over 480 million litres of water per day and a primary H2O supplier to most residents in Abuja, under the Federal Capital Territory Water Board (FCTWB).
Apart from its basic function, this masterpiece also possesses enormous aesthetic beauty  that is on par with other natural wonders in the country..
Cool breeze, lovely mountains, beautiful scenery, green colored water, coupled with a serene environment and tranquility.
We (Naija Adventurers) hit the road last year in December and had a first hand feel of 'paradise on earth'

Trip to Gurara Waterfalls, Gurara, Niger State, Nigeria

Oral history has it that Gurara Waterfalls was discovered in 1745 by a Gwari hunter named Buba, way before the Europeans discovered it in 1925 and turned it into a recreational centre. Before its discovery by the Europeans, the Waterfalls was worshiped by locals living in communities around it and local folklore postulates that it was named after two indigenous deities called Gura and Rara...
So as explorers, adventurers, tourists and nature enthusiasts, i and my team members in the now renowned 'Naija Adventurers' (formerly FCT Adventurers) took to the road to have a feel of this magical destination!!! Guess what?? it was truly magical!!!!!! Awesome experience!!!  and just like i always say ' nothing is a beautiful as nature'. #Naija Adventurers #Nigeria #Gurara waterfalls #Adventure master
